Details about this class

Hi!

I am looking forward to working with you as we learn some super cool math.  Below are some important details about our class that you should know before the term begins.

--------------------

Once the term begins, I recommend downloading and printing the MTH 111 Lecture Video Outlines (Course Materials), as you will be taking notes as this is best way to take good notes during class.  File will be posted in our D2L course or you can email me for it if you would like to get a jump start on getting your class supplies together.  You have print credits for all PCC Computing Center (Learning Centers and/or Computer Labs) and Multnomah County offers free printing as well.

--------------------

In order to be successful in this course, you will need to be comfortable following written directions, be a self-directed learner, be comfortable with technology, have good time management skills, and be able to spend at least 15-20 hours per week completing required math work.

-------------------------------------------------

Technology

We will be using the online math program MyOpenMath for our class.  It is free to use.

You will NOT need a graphing calculator for this course, but you will need a scientific calculator for assignments. We will use a free online graphing software where appropriate for exams.

No show policy

Your instructor can mark you as a "no show" if you do not participate in your class during the first week. This will remove you from the class.

Students with disabilities

Students with disabilities should notify their instructor if accommodations are needed to take this class. For information about technologies that help people with disabilities taking Online based classes please visit the Disability Services website.
