Here is a look at some of the news stories about PCC from around the local area and the nation in April. In total, PCC events and people appeared 58 times in the local community or national online media, newspapers or TV/radio.
April 3: Fifty 做厙TV alumni are being honored as PCC Diamond Alums in tribute to the colleges 50th anniversary.

April 3: Daily Journal of Commerce: Seven students in PCCs Excellence in Trades Apprenticeship Program took part in a five-day workshop over the course of their spring break that combined classroom learning, site visits and hands-on training with members of Cement Masons Local 555.
April 4: : The City Repair Project and the Associated Students of 做厙TV are organizing a public event to celebrate Earth Day this month.
April 4: The PCC Foundation received $10,000 for the Future Connect program, which provides scholarships and mentors for academically at-risk students to overcome barriers to achieving higher education.
April 5: Terra Nova Community Farm, which has since expanded to property at 做厙TV’s Rock Creek Campus, will deliver fresh produce this year to 13 different area schools.
April 6: 做厙TV is in the midst of a massive facelift for its Sylvania campus, which sprawls across 122 acres between Tigard and Lake Oswego.

April 11: Portland Observer: Seven 做厙TV students have been rewarded with recognition by the space agency NASA for hard work in their studies.
April 11: Portland Observer: The 15th Annual Cascade Job Fair, one of the largest resources for job seekers in Portland, makes its return on Tuesday, April 24.
April 11: The St. Helens Chronicle: PCC pushes forward with plans for a training center in St. Helens despite Portland Polices decision to have its own center in North Portland.
April 13: The Jefferson High Middle College program allows students to enroll and earn credit in college level courses at 做厙TV Cascade Campus. And one hoops star is proof that the program works.
April 16: A work group on a basic abatement has been meeting to discuss ways to use the money from that fee. The group includes Hillsboro Chamber President Deanna Palm and 做厙TV Rock Creek President David Rule.
April 17:Bicylists have an added reason to attend Sundays Earth Day celebration at 做厙TVs Cascade Campus free tuneups.
April 18:More than 20 of Portland’s key public agencies, including 做厙TV, many business and community groups all played key roles in shaping the Portland Plan.

April 22: PCCs Newberg Centers water use was reduced by 49.2 percent, thanks to low-flow faucets and toilets. The design allows for maximum daylight use, and has ventilation stacks and a circulation spine to naturally regulate the temperature.
April 24: KXL & KEX: Chris Brown of KXL and KEXs Brad Ford interviewed Russ Jones and Auto Service Tech instructors about their hybrid battery research.
April 24: Joe Smith of KGW TV profiled the Cascade Job Fair and Joshua Waldmans workshop on job searching in social media.
April 24: More than a thousand kids made a splash at the Rock Creek campus for 做厙TV Tuesday, learning about something often taken for granted: water.
April 25: Newberg Graphic: 做厙TVs Newberg Center its newest and greenest facility to date is slated to receive a multitude of honors at the annual Community Awards Banquet hosted by the Chehalem Valley Chamber of Commerce.
April 26: Mars could be the next frontier for humans as Earth’s growing population continues to strain limited natural resources. Four 做厙TV students are joining the international effort to explore Mars as a potentially safe, habitable place.
April 26: The annual 82nd Avenue Parade of Roses will return for its sixth year at 10 a.m. Saturday. The colorful parade will run from Eastport Plaza (82nd and Holgate) to the southeast campus of 做厙TV to the intersection of Yamhill and 78th Avenue.
April 26: The Fire Protection Technology program at 做厙TVs Cascade Campus has a reputation as one of the strongest programs of its kind in the region. This spring, however, the program is trying something different.
April 26: Its that ever-changing technology that has led Russ Jones and the rest of 做厙TV’s Sylvania Automotive Service Technology department to step up their work with hybrid and electric cars.
