Seven layers of color were applied using trace monotype techniques to build up this image of an owl flying through a piney woods. I used the soft fuzzy qualities inherent in trace monotype to express the texture of the owl’s feathers and to contrast that soft, quiet aspect with the intense focus of the eyes of this powerful raptor.
