Course Description
Explore, practice, Model-Lead-Test model of Direct Instruction, Schmoker’s guidelines for interactive lecture - teaching students how to read text, and other DI techniques. Analyze Englemann’s Principles of Juxtaposition. Begin to apply Direct Instruction and Coop Learning techniques to course content.

Course Outcomes:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to
■ Apply principles of direct instruction to increase effectiveness of content delivery.
■ Apply principles of cooperative learning to improve student learning.
■ Balance teacher- and student-centered learning approaches to appropriately meet learner needs.
